Live blogging from a New Sanctuary Movement fundraiser at our church tonight. (I had so much fun doing that at GA, it’s about time I did it again. ) What a wonderful event. Right now we are enjoying wonderful live music and dancing. Of course there has been great food too – I had to endure the good smells as it was being prepared in the church kitchen since yesterday! Earlier there were inspirational speakers and stories. Speakers included award winning director John Carlos Frey and CLUE Executive Director
Rev. Alexia Salvatierra and the band is “Along for the Ride.” It’s a wonderful evening and, as so often, I am so proud of my church. I know my mother would love to be here too. Tomorrow morning she will be teaching her students English as a second language as she does every Saturday at the local program on the other side of the country. I hope I making a difference in people’s lives when I am 80 too!

Pamela, as you know, I so much enjoy working with the students that I never think of my efforts as anything commendable. Always a bright spot in my week.
Pam, by teaching English as a second language, your mom is giving her immigrant students a shot at the American dream. That's very commendable!
